Sewing 201 - Sewing & Pattern Skills Development

Have you taken our Sewing 101 class and are are ready for the next step of your sewing journey?  Then Sewing 201 - Sewing & Pattern Skills Development is just for you!!

 

This class is designed for Sewing 101 students (or *equivalent) who wish to take their sewing skills to the next level.  In this class, you get to choose from a variety of preselected patterns which fit your style and reinforce the skills you learned in Sewing 101.

 

We'll also introduce you to some new skills such as under-stitching, sewing gathers, putting in pockets, various hems, bias binding finishes, adding sleeve cuffs, sewing darts and basic zipper insertion.

 

In our first week together, we will review taking proper measurements, choosing the correct size, how to lengthen, shorten and blend sizing lines on your pattern, fabric grainline, pattern lay plans, pinning, cutting and transferring important notches and markings from your pattern to your fabric.

 

At the beginning of each subsequent class, I will discuss and demonstrate new sewing techniques.  The techniques and demo’s for this class will be modified to reflect the projects chosen by each student. 

 

As such, students are invited to take this class more than once and choose new patterns & techniques to try each time!  Students wishing to take this class again will receive a 20% discount code in class!
